Net-book vs. Notebook

All Those portable computer available in the market from different brands which are sold named as Notebooks & Netbooks look somewhat same in the form factor to a layman.

So, a thought comes to our mind that tries to know about the basic differences between these Netbooks & the Notebooks.

Here i’m tring to address those issues by differentiating between these two types of Portable Computers:

  • Netbooks usually have screen sizes of seven inches, nine inches or ten inches, whereas common screen sizes of notebooks are larger that is twelve, fourteen, fifteen and seventeen or even more.
  • Notebooks are capable to handle heavy applications such as video editing and hard core gaming. Netbooks is ideal for accessing web applications, cloud computing, and Word processing applications.
  • At present, there is no netbook that has a disc drive, so you cannot play CDs or watch DVDs on netbooks and also some netbooks have only a 4/8Gb SSD memory
  • Netbooks consume less power and therefore have a longer battery life than notebooks.
  • Netbooks are usually cheaper than notebooks. Prices range from about $350-$600.
